We’re excited to announce that Amanda DeVriese-Sebilla has officially stepped into the role of Executive Director in August at Argentine Betterment Corporation (ABC)! A lifelong advocate for Argentine, Amanda brings a wealth of experience and an undeniable passion for strengthening our community. Her extensive background in community development, marketing, event planning, and volunteer coordination makes her a natural fit to lead ABC into its next chapter.
Amanda’s connection to Argentine runs deep. Growing up, her parents were instrumental in establishing the Southwest Argentine Neighborhood Association (SWAN), where she got her first taste of community involvement. Her family was also dedicated to helping plan our cherished Silver City Day and Holiday Lighting Ceremony, instilling in Amanda the importance of giving back from a young age. This early involvement inspired her to stay close to community work, ultimately leading her to serve on the ABC Board in the mid-2000s and again from 2019-2021. Then she was hired by ABC in August of 2021 as Program Director.
Amanda’s professional journey spans over 20 years, during which she has worn many hats—event planner, marketer, business developer, and community organizer. She holds a Bachelor’s in Communication Theory and a Master’s in Communication & Leadership from Park University. Throughout her career, she has worked in various industries, including the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector, the non-profit sector and Marketing consulting for early stage startups. Her experience in these fields has honed her ability to strategize, organize, and build lasting partnerships—skills she now applies to her role at ABC.
In addition to her work with ABC, Amanda serves on the Parks and Recreation Board for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, as well as on the advisory board for the KU Cancer Center. Outside her professional responsibilities, Amanda is a dedicated wife and mother who loves traveling, adventure, sports but especially spending time with her family.
With Amanda at the helm, ABC remains focused on improving the quality of life for Argentine residents. She brings fresh ideas and a collaborative spirit, ready to lead initiatives that address health, wellness, economic growth, and education. Amanda is eager to partner with other organizations and individuals who share ABC’s vision of a stronger, healthier Argentine.
Join us in welcoming Amanda as we look forward to an exciting future at ABC! We’re confident that her leadership will drive meaningful change and bring about a brighter future for our community.
