Serve Day 2026: Showing Up for Argentine

On Saturday, April 11th, something powerful happened in Argentine — our community showed up.
With more than 60 volunteers (possibly the biggest number of volunteers we’ve ever had) and representation from approximately 17 organizations, this year’s Serve Day was a true reflection of what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose. Students from Emerson Elementary, Argentine Middle School, and Harmon High Schools — including participants from AVID, NHS, and TRIO — worked side by side with local businesses, organizations, and residents, all with the same goal: to take care of our community.
And the impact was undeniable. Together, volunteers collected nearly 250 bags of trash, filled a 30-foot dumpster, and removed over 30 tires from our neighborhoods.
But Serve Day is about more than just numbers.
It’s about ownership.
The reality is — no one is coming to save our community. The responsibility belongs to all of us. And the good news is, we have the power to make it better.
When we keep Argentine clean, we’re doing more than improving how it looks. We’re protecting our environment. We’re helping prevent flooding by keeping trash out of our storm drains, sewers, and pump systems. And we’re doing our part to keep debris from ending up in our rivers. Clean spaces are healthier spaces — and they send a message that we care.
Taking pride in our neighborhood doesn’t require a big event. It can be as simple as spending a few minutes each day picking up litter around your home or business. Small actions, done consistently, create real change.
Serve Day is a reminder that this is our community. And being a good neighbor means taking responsibility for it — together.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who showed up and made a difference this year, including:
Argentine Betterment Corporation + ABC Board Members, Youth Front, KCK Housing Authority, T-Mobile, Metro KC Fitness, Security Bank, Dragonfly MSP, KCK Police Department, Immanuel Lutheran Community Outreach, Mazuma Credit Union, Harmon NHS & AVID, Argentine AVID, TRIO, Grace United Methodist, Olsson, UG Public Works, Livable Neighborhoods, and Emerson Elementary.
Because of you, Argentine is cleaner, stronger, and more connected.
Let’s keep it going!
