About Argentine Betterment Corporation 

Argentine Betterment Corporation (ABC) is a nonprofit community development organization serving the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas. Through the Rooted Change Grant, ABC is funding a facade improvement program for local small businesses along the Strong Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue corridors. As part of this grant, ABC is commissioning a short documentary-style video to capture the story of this program from selection to completion.

Project Overview 

ABC is seeking proposals from qualified videographers to document the facade improvement program across three filming days. The final deliverable will tell the story of community investment, small business resilience, and neighborhood revitalization in Argentine. 

Scope of Work 

• Day 1 — Grant Committee Meeting Videographer will film approximately one to two hours of the facade improvement grant committee as they review and discuss applications. This portion will be filmed without audio/sound recording. The goal is to capture the process and deliberation behind the grant selection in a visually compelling way. 

• Day 2 — Before Documentation Videographer will visit and film the exterior of selected business locations prior to any facade improvements being completed. This footage will serve as the "before" visual record for the documentary, capturing the current condition of each property along the corridor. 

• Day 3 — Interviews & After Documentation Videographer will conduct on-camera interviews with a select number of business owners about their experience with the program and what the improvements mean to them and their community. Videographer will also capture exterior footage of completed facade improvements at each business location.

Deliverables 

• All raw footage delivered digitally in a standard format (MP4 or equivalent) 

• One edited short documentary-style video (estimated 2-3 minutes) suitable for use on social media, grant reporting, and community presentations 

• Still photo captures from footage upon request 

• All rights to footage transferred to Argentine Betterment Corporation upon final payment

Proposal Requirements 

Please submit a proposal that includes the following: 

• Brief description of your videography experience, particularly documentary or community storytelling work 

• Portfolio or samples of previous work 

• Proposed approach to the three filming days 

• Itemized quote for services including filming, editing, and final delivery 

• Estimated timeline for delivery of final edited video 

• References from at least two previous clients

Budget 

ABC has allocated a budget for this project. Qualified vendors are encouraged to submit competitive proposals. Please provide an itemized quote so ABC can evaluate the full scope of services offered.

Selection Criteria 

Proposals will be evaluated based on relevant experience and portfolio quality, proposed approach and creative vision, cost and value, and references.
